These terms apply when you use OnlinePitchChanger.com, its free browser tools and its guides. By using the site you agree to them; if you do not agree, please do not use it. In short: use the tools lawfully, only process audio and video you have the right to use, and accept that the free tools are provided as they are.
Who runs this site
OnlinePitchChanger.com is independently run by Mayer. In these terms, “we” and “us” mean Mayer as the operator of the site, and “you” means anyone who uses it. More about the site and why it exists is on the About page.
What the site offers
The site offers free browser tools that change the pitch, key or tempo of audio and video, find the key of a song, calculate semitones and test your vocal range, starting with the Online Pitch Changer on the home page, plus guides about keys, semitones and singing. There are no accounts, no sign-up and no payments.
The tools process your files inside your own browser. Audio, video and microphone input are not uploaded to our server. How each type of tool handles files is explained on the Data Security page.
We may change, pause or remove any tool or page at any time. We do not promise that a tool will stay available or will work with every browser, device or file format.
Your files, your output and copyright
- Only process audio, video and recordings that you own, that you have permission to use, or that you may otherwise lawfully use (for example under a licence).
- Changing the pitch, key or tempo of a song does not give you any rights in it. Do not publish, sell, perform in public or otherwise distribute a changed version of someone else’s work unless you have the rights to do so.
- We claim no rights in your files or in the output you create with the tools.
- Because the tools run in your browser, your files never reach us and we cannot see or check what you process. You alone are responsible for how you use your files and the output.
- The tools read your file but do not change the original on your device. The result is a new file that you choose to download. Keep a copy of your originals.
YouTube videos
The YouTube Pitch Changer plays a video in YouTube’s own embedded player after you paste a link and press Load video. It does not download, record or save the video or its sound. On a computer with Chrome or Edge, the live pitch change works by asking your browser for permission to share the sound of the tab; the pitch is shifted in your browser while the video plays.
Videos you play this way remain subject to the YouTube Terms of Service and to the rights of the people who published them. If a video’s owner has turned off embedding, or the video is restricted, the tool cannot play it. OnlinePitchChanger.com is not affiliated with or endorsed by YouTube or Google.
Acceptable use
You must not use the site to:
- break the law or infringe the rights of others;
- try to gain unauthorized access to the site or its server, or to overload or disrupt them, including through heavy automated requests;
- copy large parts of the site’s text and republish them as your own;
- remove copyright or licence notices from the tools’ code;
- pretend to be us or suggest that we endorse you.
We may block access that harms the site or its visitors.
Content and code on this site
The text, images, tool designs and code on this site are protected by copyright. You may link to any page and quote short parts with a link back to the source. Open-source components used by the tools, such as the LAME MP3 encoder, remain under their own licences. Names such as YouTube, Audacity, GarageBand and Premiere Pro belong to their owners and are used only to describe those products.
Not professional advice
Guides and tool results are for learning, practice and creative work. They are not medical, legal or professional audio-engineering advice. The limits of the tools and guides are explained in the Disclaimer.
No warranty
The site and the tools are provided free, “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not promise that the site will be error-free or uninterrupted, that every result will be accurate, or that output will meet a professional standard.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Mayer is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for lost files, data, work, profits or opportunities, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the site, the tools or their output, even if told that such loss was possible.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that the law does not allow to be excluded or limited, such as liability for fraud or wilful misconduct, and nothing in them removes rights you have as a consumer under the law that applies to you.
Privacy
How the site handles data is explained in the Privacy Policy, and the cookies and similar technologies it uses are listed in the Cookie Policy. Your rights under European and California privacy law, and how to use them, are in the GDPR and CCPA Notice.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms when the site, its tools or the law change. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when they last changed. If you keep using the site after an update, the updated terms apply; if you do not agree with them, please stop using the site.
Governing law and where disputes are heard
These terms, and any dispute about them or about the site, are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be heard in the state or federal courts located in California, and you and we agree to the jurisdiction of those courts.
If you live outside the USA, this choice of law does not take away the protection of mandatory consumer laws in the country where you live, and you may also bring a claim in your local courts where that law allows it. Before starting a formal claim, please email us so we can try to resolve the problem first.
Other terms
If a court finds any part of these terms unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. If we do not enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between you and us about the site.
