Accessibility Statement

OnlinePitchChanger.com is committed to making its tools and educational content accessible to the widest possible range of users, including people with disabilities. This statement explains our current accessibility status, the known limitations of our tools for certain users, what we have implemented to support accessibility, and how to contact us if you encounter a barrier.

Our Commitment

We believe that musicians, singers, and audio hobbyists of all abilities deserve access to tools and information that help them work with pitch and musical keys effectively.

OnlinePitchChanger.com aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA — the internationally recognised standard for web accessibility published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines define how to make web content more accessible to people with visual, auditory, motor, cognitive, and speech-related disabilities.

Accessibility is an ongoing commitment. When barriers are identified — by our own review or by user feedback — we work to address them.

Current Accessibility Status

OnlinePitchChanger.com is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the website do not yet fully meet the standard. Known gaps and their reasons are disclosed in the Limitations section below.

What we have implemented

Keyboard navigation. Core site navigation — menus, links, and page structure — is accessible via keyboard. Users who cannot use a mouse can navigate between sections using the Tab key and activate links with Enter.

Text readability. Body text is set at a minimum of 16px with sufficient line spacing to support readability for users with dyslexia or low vision. Heading levels (H1, H2, H3) follow correct hierarchical order throughout the site, allowing screen readers to navigate content structure logically.

Colour contrast. Text and background colour combinations across the site are chosen to meet or exceed the WCAG 2.1 Level AA minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text.

Descriptive link text. Links across the site use descriptive text that explains their destination — not generic phrases like “click here” or “read more.” This benefits screen reader users who navigate by cycling through links.

Alt text on images. Meaningful images used in articles and tool pages include descriptive alt text. Decorative images use empty alt attributes so screen readers skip them appropriately.

Responsive design. The site is fully responsive and adapts to screen sizes from small mobile devices to large desktop monitors. Content reflows cleanly without horizontal scrolling at standard zoom levels up to 200%.

No auto-playing media. No audio or video content on this site begins playing automatically without user action.

Page titles. Every page has a unique, descriptive title tag, allowing users navigating between browser tabs or using a screen reader to identify their location.

Skip navigation link. A “Skip to content” link is available at the top of every page, allowing keyboard and screen reader users to bypass navigation and reach page content directly.

Form labels. Input fields on the Contact page and tool interfaces include visible labels and associated label elements for screen reader compatibility.

Known Limitations

OnlinePitchChanger.com includes interactive browser-based tools that present specific accessibility challenges. We disclose these honestly rather than omitting them.

Slider controls for pitch and tempo. The pitch shift and playback speed sliders used across the tools are range input elements. While they can be operated with keyboard arrow keys, the visual feedback for their current value may not be fully announced by all screen readers in all configurations. We are reviewing improvements to ARIA live region announcements for slider value changes.

File upload interface. The file upload areas on tools such as the MP3 Pitch Changer, Video Pitch Changer, and Pitch and Tempo Changer include drag-and-drop zones. Drag-and-drop functionality is not keyboard accessible. However, all upload tools also include a standard file input button that is fully keyboard accessible as an alternative. Users who cannot use drag-and-drop can always use the file input button instead.

Audio playback controls. The playback controls — play, pause, stop — within the tools are implemented as standard button elements and are keyboard accessible. However, some tool interfaces include custom-styled controls that may have reduced screen reader support in certain browser and assistive technology combinations. We are working to improve ARIA labelling on these elements.

YouTube IFrame embed player. The YouTube Pitch Changer embeds YouTube’s player via the IFrame API. The accessibility of the YouTube player itself — including its controls, captions, and keyboard navigation — is governed by YouTube and is outside our direct control. YouTube’s accessibility documentation is available at support.google.com/youtube/accessibility.

Processing status announcements. When a file is being processed, the progress indicator is primarily visual. Screen reader announcements for processing start, completion, and download readiness are not consistently implemented across all tools. We are working to add ARIA live region updates for these states.

Third-party advertising. This site may display advertisements served by Google AdSense. The accessibility of individual ad creatives is outside our direct control, as ads are provided by third-party advertisers.

Assistive Technology Compatibility

OnlinePitchChanger.com has been tested for basic compatibility with the following assistive technologies:

  • Screen readers: NVDA with Chrome (Windows), VoiceOver with Safari (macOS and iOS)
  • Keyboard-only navigation: Tested in Chrome and Firefox on Windows
  • Browser zoom: Content tested at 200% zoom without loss of content or functionality
  • High contrast mode: Core content remains readable in Windows High Contrast mode

We recommend using an up-to-date version of Chrome or Firefox with your preferred assistive technology for the most consistent experience.

Text Alternatives for Tool Functions

We recognise that some users may find the interactive tool interfaces difficult to use. The following pages provide text-based educational content covering the concepts the tools work with, and are fully accessible without interacting with any tool:

These pages are designed to be fully usable with screen readers and keyboard navigation.

Feedback and Contact

We welcome accessibility feedback. If you experience a barrier on any page or tool on OnlinePitchChanger.com — a control that is not keyboard accessible, a result that is not announced by your screen reader, a download that cannot be triggered without a mouse, or any other accessibility issue — please let us know.

Contact method: onlinepitchchanger.com/contact

Please include:

  • The page or tool where you experienced the issue
  • The assistive technology and browser you were using
  • A description of what you expected and what happened instead

We review all accessibility feedback personally and aim to respond within 7 business days. Where a reported barrier is confirmed, we will work to address it and update this statement accordingly.

Formal Complaints

If you are not satisfied with our response to an accessibility concern, you may wish to contact the relevant national enforcement body for accessibility standards in your country. In the United Kingdom, this is the Equality and Human Rights Commission. In the United States, the relevant body depends on the context of the accessibility complaint.

Review Schedule

This accessibility statement is reviewed and updated at least once per year, or whenever significant changes are made to the site’s tools or structure. Outstanding issues identified in this statement are tracked for resolution on an ongoing basis.
